We do offer discounts for multiple weeks and months, as well as seasonal discounts. For additional information on discounts for longer term stays, please contact us via email.
We do not offer refunds on deposits or final payments as a general policy. We can provide you with a rental contract with which to obtain travel insurance for financial protection in the event of a need to cancel. (When you pay the deposit, please ask us for a contract for travel insurance). It is not our desire to have you pay for something you cannot use, nor for you to feel penalized for having to cancel as it is usually due to an emergency, but we are a small business and simply can’t afford to refund bookings like a hotel with a rapid turnover. Our customers tend to book many months if not a full year in advance. Because it is difficult to rebook an apartment if you cancel on a somewhat short notice (2 or 3 months prior to arrival), we will have turned away potential customers. For this reason, we are happy to provide a contract so you can get travel insurance. In general, we need at least 3 to 4 months to rebook an apartment, and sometimes more. Under very special circumstances, and if we are able to rebook the apartment, we will provide a partial refund.
How to Make a Reservation
To reserve an apartment, please either contact us via email at Shelley@rivieraexperience.com or you can call us at 011-33-6-80-41-25-97 (from U.S.), 00-33-6-80-41-25-97 (from Europe). We require a 40% deposit. The balance of payment is due two months prior to arrival. We can accept payment by credit card (Visa and MasterCard but not American Express), or by wire or check.

Institut de Francais Program
A number of our customers attend the world-renowned Institut de Francais. I, too, was a student when I first arrived to Villefranche and can attest to the quality of their program – both for learning French and as a great life experience. At Riviera Experience we offer apartments that are ideally equipped and located for students attending the Institute. We have apartments in the Old Town, on the hillside, and all within an easy walk of the Institute. We will welcome students, show them how everything works in the apartment, get them set up on the wireless DSL, show them how to get to the Institute, and provide French (as well as English) -speaking TV and radio (all helpful things to listen to while at school). We like to welcome you the Saturday before school starts so you can settle into the apartment, get to know your way around the village, and get set up with groceries, etc., so you can start your day on Monday fully relaxed and ready for the program. Depending on where in the world you are, you might just feel like getting away from a dark and cold winter – to be in the warm sunshine of the French Riviera and Cote d’Azur. If so, Riviera Experience has developed a program just for you to escape winter, to live in France in your own home, and all without the hassle and long-term commitment of owning property. Our properties are offered at significant discounts from their normal seasonal rates, depending on how many months you rent.
When the French Riviera was “discovered” as a place to holiday, it was initially seen as a winter resort. Its mild climate, abundant sunshine and natural beauty were thought to be best enjoyed in the winter. But since the 1960’s it has also become a summer resort, and more people now visit in summer than winter. However, if you speak with the locals, they will all tell you winter can be the very best season.

Long-term Rental Program
Thinking about moving to France? Ready for a transition in your life? Needing to shake things up and try something different? Want to live a healthier lifestyle for a while? Have a sabbatical and want to live abroad? Working on a project and need a change of pace and creative space to work?
These are some of the reasons a number of our customers come and spend a number of months or year or more with us. We offer special discounts for customers staying for longer periods of time and our rates include everything: all linens, utilities, etc. And for our long-term guests, we provide special services to help you get set up and operating here like a local resident within days of your arrival (mobile phone, bank account, etc.).

Our guests who stay with us regularly for longer terms have found that staying in one of our apartments is a simpler and less expensive alternative to owning your own home or having a long-term rental contract. They think of our apartments are “their home away from away from home” – or their “pied a terre” in the south of France – and we do too! And for these guests, we are able to keep a few of their belongings in our dry, clean storage room, or receive shipments of their belongings to our office where our staff will then place them in their apartment prior to their arrival.
So if you have ever wanted to live abroad for part of the year, consider our long-term option as it enables you to have essentially your own home abroad but without the risk, expense, or hassle of owning it yourself.
